crochet takes the stage

Agata Olek is a fascinating artist who uses crochet as her medium. Her work spans a wide range from installation pieces to sculpture to costume design and performance art. She caused a stir when she started hanging around NYC streets in this get-up:



Agata is crocheting the costumes and stage sets for an upcoming dance performance here in NYC. If you're in the area, check Carrie Ahern Cance: The Unity of Skin, April 3-5 at St. Marks Church in the Bowery, a church on Second Avenue in the East Village that supports the arts by hosting performances and other arts events. I've been there many times and it's a great venue; I can't wait to see how it looks decked-out in crochet - and what Agata dreams up for this project! (Click here to reserve tickets.)

mmmmm S&M crochet... just what sin city needs. Myself I am going to start pinching my pennies to save up for a crochet motorcycle cover... that would look perfect... Can she do flames?
