Hopefully enough time has elapsed since Christmas that you are no longer sick of looking at Christmas things. Because I want to share some pics of the wool felt stockings I made this year. (I actually DID get these done in time for the big day, thanks to The Great No-Gift Policy of Christmas 2007.)
The deer and bird silhouettes are from Adorn, and the rest I winged. I had a hard time with these, I never felt like the composition was quite right, but I had limited amounts of felt (all in small pieces), so I had some constraints. Finally I told myself to stop overanalyzing and just finish them already, so I did. (Note to self: sometimes just being done is better than being perfect!)
I hand-stitched the elements on the front of each stocking, then as the clock ticked, I machine-stitched the rest - lining, hanging tabs, and fronts to backs. Ready for Santa!

they look perfect to me....even though you never "felt" they were quite perfect. ha!
bravo! they look lovely.
glad to see secret diary is keeping up the puns without me.
Nothing makes your man feel more manly than a big buck stocking around the holidays. They are perfect.... but you didn't show off the sexy linning!
Hee. . . i kept looking at the deer and thinking "that looks so familiar. . ." Then when you said Adorn, it hit me. . . that's 'cause I drew it (It's from my deer pillow! My first Adorn project!)! Oh my. . . beautiful stockings, by the way. . . quite lovely indeed!
hey Erika, thanks for stopping by! I love that deer silhouette - GREAT design, and thanks for sharing it with all of us in Adorn! I love your work, keep it up!
