My latest Sewing 101 post and free pattern is up over at Design*Sponge - this week I'm showing you how to make a lined, zipped pouch. It's a basic that never goes out of style!
There's a little trick to the construction in this pattern which allows you to install the zipper and the lining all at once - the whole pouch is made as all one piece actually. It's kinda neat. Totally the sort of thing that once you get the hang of it, you'll find yourself whipping one up in 20 minutes every time you need a little bag for this or that.
I have grand plans to make custom zipper-pouches for all my electronics and power cords, to keep them organized when traveling. Which I'll never actually get around to doing, but it sounds nice, doesn't it?
But for now, get on over to Design*Sponge for the free pattern and tons of how-to photos!

Very cute! I've had a sewing machine on my wish list for sew long, the next sale might have to be it. I want to learn how to sew too!
I absolutely love your blog! I feel like running out and buying a sewing machine, bundt pan and JELL-O... just to try my hand at your fantastic projects. Heading over to Design*Sponge to check out Sewing 101. :o)
