quick & easy holiday sewing

I've got some new free sewing patterns up over at Design Sponge that may be just what you're looking for if you're on the hunt for last-minute holiday decor and gifts. Check it out:

Make a Christmas tree skirt! It's super easy to make a simple round tree skirt, and this post will teach you how to customize your own so it's the perfect size whether you have a magestic 12-foot tree in your house or a little branch like I do in my teeny NYC apartment. (I kinda like my little branch, though!)

Paper-stitched place cards! Learn some tips for sewing on paper, and whip up these sweet little cards for your holiday table - you can seriously make them in only minutes each.

Napkins! In this post I wrote about the trick to making perfect mitered corners (it's really quite clever), and gave some ideas for really simple embroidery. These napkins really are a perfect quick handmade gift.

Happy stitching!
