While I was in the motor city I had the pleasure of meeting (and working on a crafty project) with two very cool crafty local ladies.

I hung out with Regina, a.k.a. chainchainchained, who makes jewelry by deconstructing junky-looking old costume jewelry and remaking it into amazing new pieces. I snagged this very fabulous piece from her, which I've already worn twice:


And I got to do some stitching with Taryn, a.k.a. talkingsquid, who uses vintage fabrics and t-shirts to stitch up jewelry and accessories. She hooked me up with these, which I adore because I love wearing textile jewelry - it's just so soft and light and comfortable, never heavy or clanky:
